In S02 E08, TOW the List, Monica is so desperate for a job that she agrees to craft Thanksgiving-themed recipes for a fake chocolate: Mockolate. As guest star Michael McKean describes, it’s a “completely synthetic chocolate substitute.”

This made Elizabeth think of the chocolate cake shooters she had back in her college days — you’d take a shot of Frangelico and then suck on a sugared lemon wedge. Amazingly enough, it does indeed taste like chocolate cake!
We put our own spin on this and made it into a Mockolate Martini. We definitely advocate using fresh-squeezed lemon juice — there’s just something about the chemical reaction it has with the Frangelico that really makes it taste like chocolate.
So, despite the fact that it looks like you’re drinking a lemon drop, give it a try. Maybe even give it to someone without telling them what it is, and see what they taste! Enjoy!
1.5 ounces vodka
1.5 ounces Frangelico hazelnut liqueur
½ ounce fresh lemon juice
½ - 1 ounce simple syrup
Lemon peel for garnish
Shake everything except the lemon peel over ice in a cocktail shaker. Strain into a martini glass and garnish with — you guessed it — the lemon peel!
