Irish Coffee Martini
In Season 2, Episode 10, TOW Russ, Monica dates Fun Bobby — and soon discovers that the reason he’s so fun is because he “makes a lot of things Irish lately.” Yep, this episode sugarcoats alcoholism like only a sitcom can, resolving the issue in under 30 minutes! Yippee!
We were inspired by Fun Bobby’s desire to make his Central Perk coffee “Irish” and decided to make an Irish Coffee Martini!
We used this recipe from McCormick as a base. Well, at least Heather did. Elizabeth forgot that the recipe called for coffee and used Kahlua instead. Oops. Looks like hers is extra Irish!
We also used bourbon instead of Irish whiskey, because Elizabeth has a soft spot for bourbon. So maybe we should call these “Kentucky Coffee Martinis”?
IRISH COFFEE MARTINI
2 ounces Bailey’s, Amarula, or other Irish-ish cream liqueur
2 ounces bourbon (or Irish whiskey, if you want to be super-Irish)
2 ounces chilled coffee (or Kahlua, if you want to throw caution to the wind)
Splash of vanilla extract
Shake everything over ice in a cocktail shaker. Strain and serve.
P.S. Is it just us, or does the word “Irish” look really weird now?
